The European Union imposed a new round of sanctions on Russia following the escalation of hostilities near Kherson. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell announced the measures in Brussels, targeting 150 individuals and 37 entities linked to the Kremlin. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning urged restraint at a press conference in Beijing. Meanwhile, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg met with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov at NATO headquarters in Brussels to discuss additional military aid worth approximately EUR 2 billion.
